Wayne Sherman Scholarship for Intellectual Curiosity
This scholarship is offered in the memory of Wayne Sherman, a mathematics faculty member at Miramar for over 25 years. Wayne possessed a seemingly infinite intellectual curiosity. He loved all facets of mathematics and economics, traveled to over 40 countries across the globe, and read widely on geopolitics despite having severe dyslexia. He insisted that his students call him Wayne, and he was a passionate teacher showing them he cared about their mathematical learning and their life journeys. The math department misses him greatly and offers this scholarship in the memory of his indomitable spirit.
