SDIAS Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship for Community College Students is intended to provide financial support for community college studies who demonstrate financial need anSELECTION CRITERIA
Students will be selected based on how well they meet the following selection criteria:
• Must demonstrate consistent work experience while attending college
• Must demonstrate academic excellence are the first in their family to attend college.

SELECTION PROCESS
A slate of finalists will be selected by the district scholarship committee based on
financial need, academics and activities.
• Finalists will be required to participate in a short interview with members of San
Diego Indian American Society (SDIAS) to be conducted on campus.
• A scholarship selection task force established by the SDIAS Scholarship Awards
Committee will determine the final selections in accordance with the evaluation
methodology and budget approved by the SDIAS Board
SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENT INFORMATION
The scholarship will be disbursed by the beginning of the Fall 2025 semester.
